Preview: Kirby Prep Griffins vs. Chartwell Bulldogs
The Kirby Prep Griffins are on the road again on Friday and play against the Chartwell Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Kirby Prep had to suffer through a rough 70-23 loss at the hands of San Lorenzo Valley. Kirby Prep was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-9.
Despite the loss, Kirby Prep saw an underclassman step up: Chris Lively scored 14 points along with five rebounds. The game was Lively's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Meanwhile, Chartwell couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a serious blow against Ceiba College Preparatory Academy last Tuesday, falling 76-32.
Kirby Prep bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.4 points per game. As for Chartwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
