Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Denver City). They were the clear victor by a 19-1 margin over the Smyer Bobcats on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Andres Ornelas was incredible, scoring four runs while going 3-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Samrey Garcia, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Denver City hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in five consecutive games.
