Baseball Game Preview: Upper St. Clair Panthers vs. Peters Township Indians

For the second straight game, Upper St. Clair will face off against Peters Township. The Panthers will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Indians at 7:00 p.m.

Upper St. Clair is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Peters Township on Monday. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since April 30, 2024.

For Peters Township's part, Jack Stewart tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Stewart also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Indians are undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Peters Township saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Oberschelp, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave Oberschelp a new career-high.

Peters Township's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Upper St. Clair, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
