 Lake Region fought the good fight in their extra-innings  matchup against Fryeburg  on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Fryeburg Raiders by a score of  5-4. Lake Region has struggled against Fryeburg recently, as their  game on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
  Braydan Wilson was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he  pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. Wilson was also solid in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with two  RBI.
 Wilson wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Brock Gibbons, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.  Shane Plummer was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-4.
 Lake Region's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Fryeburg, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record  this season.
 Lake Region will be playing in front of their home fans against York at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Fryeburg, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Cape Elizabeth at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Cape Elizabeth's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8  runs per game  this season, so Fryeburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
