Softball Recap: Pflugerville Connally Comes Up Short

Pflugerville Connally was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They fell 15-10 to the Elgin Wildcats. Even if the Cougars couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Natalie Gonzalez and Aniya Toney did some serious damage despite the final result: Gonzalez scored two runs while going 3-for-5, while Toney scored two runs while going 3-for-5. Emily DeLeon was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two RBI.

Pflugerville Connally's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Elgin, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-16.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pflugerville Connally will take on rival Hendrickson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Elgin is set to challenge their familiar foe East View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
