Basketball Recap: Aspermont Falls Short of Munday in the Playoffs

Aspermont and Munday squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Aspermont had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Munday Moguls, falling 77-48. The Hornets have struggled against the Moguls recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Munday to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jariyis Williams, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 14 boards. Williams is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games he's played. Mance Phillips was another key player, going 5-for-9 on his way to 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Aspermont's defeat dropped their record down to 16-14. As for Munday, they are on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 22 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 27-5 record this season.

Aspermont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Munday, they will square off against Westbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Westbrook sitting on five straight wins and Munday on 15.
