Basketball Game Preview: Zanesville Blue Devils vs. Bishop Rosecrans Bishops

The Zanesville Blue Devils will face off against the Bishop Rosecrans Bishops at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Rosecrans took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Zanesville, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Zanesville turned things around against Licking Valley on Thursday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 43-34.

Zanesville found their leader in sophomore Ayawna Gladden, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 18 boards. With that strong performance, Gladden is now averaging an impressive 8.6 boards per game. Lakeyah Butcher was another key player, putting up nine points.

Zanesville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Meanwhile, Bishop Rosecrans was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-44 heartbreaker at the hands of Millersport.

Bishop Rosecrans' defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Zanesville, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-10.

Everything came up roses for Zanesville against Bishop Rosecrans in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 56-23 win. Will Zanesville repeat their success, or does Bishop Rosecrans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
