Volleyball Game Preview: Phelps Hornets vs. Floyd Central Jaguars

Phelps is 0-5 against Floyd Central since August of 2017 but things could change on Saturday. The Hornets will take on the Jaguars in a tournament on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Phelps unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to Shelby Valley on Monday.

The final score came out to 25-4, 25-9, 25-7.

Meanwhile, Floyd Central didn't have quite enough to beat Johnson Central on Thursday and fell 3-2. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Golden Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Phelps couldn't quite get it done against Floyd Central in their previous meeting back in September of 2020 as they fell 2-0. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
