Basketball Recap: Benson Falls Despite Big Games from Antonio Carson Jr. and Goanar Bamach

Benson was the 59-53 winner over Buena Vista when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Benson Bunnies fell to the Buena Vista Bison 52-48. The Bunnies just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Despite the loss, Benson had strong showings from Goanar Bamach, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 19 points along with six boards and five blocks, and Antonio Carson Jr., who went 7 for 13 en route to 18 points. Carson Jr.'s evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Even though they lost, Benson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buena Vista only pulled down four offensive rebounds.

LC Doss was his usual excellent self, going 8 of 13 en route to 29 points and five assists for Buena Vista. That makes it four consecutive games in which Doss has scored at least a third of Buena Vista's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Jarmon, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 11 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Benson's record now sits at 6-6. As for Buena Vista, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-5.

Benson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-61 defeat against Millard North on the 11th. Buena Vista has also already played their next match, a 49-36 loss against Grand Island on the 11th.
