Volleyball Game Preview: First Presbyterian Day Vikings vs. Brookstone Cougars

First Presbyterian Day hasn't had much luck against Brookstone recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Vikings will challenge the Cougars at 2:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, First Presbyterian Day didn't have quite enough to beat Stratford Academy and fell 3-2.

First Presbyterian Day wouldn't go down easily and took Stratford Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-22, 23-25, 23-25, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Brookstone came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Gators.

Brookstone had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 29-27, 15-11.

Brookstone's victory bumped their record up to 25-6. As for First Presbyterian Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-17.

First Presbyterian Day came up short against Brookstone in their previous meeting back in August of 2023, falling 2-0. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
