Basketball Recap: Temple Christian Comes Up Short

Temple Christian had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 0-9 to make it six. They were beaten by the Covenant Classical Cavaliers 67-39. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 28 points.

Despite the loss, Temple Christian had strong showings from Cadent McGraw, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 45 boards, and Miles Page, who shot 40% from the field en route to 15 points and eight rebounds. With that strong performance, McGraw is now averaging an impressive 9.4 boards per game.

As for Covenant Classical, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-8. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 26 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Covenant Classical to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Liebelt, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Gray, who put up 11 points.

Temple Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 85-41 defeat against Shelton on the 12th. As for Covenant Classical, they will be taking part in a tournament against International Leadership of Texas Keller at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
