Baseball Recap: Rye Neck Takes a Loss

After flying high against Edgemont on Wednesday, Rye Neck came back down to earth. The Panthers lost 12-2 to the Byram Hills Bobcats on Friday.

Chris Cervantes was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases and two runs. Those stolen bases were his first of the season.

Rye Neck dropped their record down to 4-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Byram Hills, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Rye Neck has already played their next game, a 14-8 defeat against Tuckahoe on the 10th. Hopefully Byram Hills paid attention to the Panthers' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
