Football Recap: Canton Comes Up Short

Canton extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They were beaten by the Madison Bulldogs 47-12. The C-Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Madison, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Shane Veenhof was his usual excellent self, picking up 105 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Those four receiving touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Caleb Hodges handled things on the ground, rushing for 88 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Looking ahead, Canton will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri-Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison, they will head out on the road to take on Milbank at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Milbank will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Madison surely won't give up without a fight.
