Baseball Recap: Fort Zumwalt South Takes a Loss

Fort Zumwalt South blew Winfield out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Winfield got their revenge. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 11-9. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Fort Zumwalt South dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Those road losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Winfield, their record now sits at 3-5.

Looking ahead, Fort Zumwalt South will welcome St. Dominic at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Crusaders will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Winfield, they will venture away from home to square off against Bowling Green at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
