Riverton took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Pittsfield Saukees by a score of 29-20. This was payback for the Hawks, who suffered a 47-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Riverton can attribute much of their success to Gradyn Hartlaub, who rushed for 99 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 187 yards while completing 77.3% of his passes.

Riverton's run defense was locked in: Pittsfield could only muster 1.6 yards per carry. The Hawks' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 3.7.

Pittsfield's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jonas Anderson, who threw for 193 yards and three TDs on only 13 passes, and Bodie Marable, who picked up 31 receiving yards and one score.
