Basketball Recap: Montgomery Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Montgomery entered their tilt with The Pingry School on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against The Pingry School Big Blue by a score of 67-58. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Big Blue are ranked 116th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Montgomery pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points over those games. As for The Pingry School, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Looking ahead, Montgomery will be playing at home against Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montgomery knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Ridge likes a good challenge. As for The Pingry School, they are taking a road trip to challenge Immaculata at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pingry School has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 194 points over their last three games.
