Basketball Recap: Jefferson County Takes a Loss

If Jefferson County was riding high fresh off their 70-47 takedown of St. John Lutheran back in December of 2024, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jefferson County Tigers were beaten by the FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers 55-28 on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Baby Rattlers: they've now lost five in a row.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keion Enzor, who posted seven points. Another player making a difference was Xay Footman, who earned five points and five rebounds.

Jefferson County's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for FAMU DRS, they moved to 3-8 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Jefferson County Tigers duke it out with the Altha Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for FAMU DRS, they will square off against Community Leadership Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
