Basketball Game Preview: Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs vs. Fuquay - Varina Bengals

Southeast Raleigh is a perfect 10-0 against Fuquay - Varina since January of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs will welcome the Fuquay - Varina Bengals at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Southeast Raleigh has 16 straight victories, Fuquay - Varina has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Southeast Raleigh really took it to Willow Spring for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-36 win. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 26 points or more this season.

Southeast Raleigh found their leader in sophomore Korryn Davis, who posted 16 points. The game was Davis' third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dariyah Harris, who put up ten points.

Meanwhile, Fuquay - Varina played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 58-33 to South Garner. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while the Titans are ranked 48th).

Southeast Raleigh's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.9 points. As for Fuquay - Varina, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-19.

Everything came up roses for Southeast Raleigh against Fuquay - Varina in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 54-13 win. In that matchup, Southeast Raleigh amassed a halftime lead of 32-4, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
