Baseball Game Preview: Southeast Seminoles vs. Booker Tornadoes

The Southeast Seminoles will face off against the Booker Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Southeast's offense. They came up short against Bell Creek Academy on Wednesday, falling 10-0. The Seminoles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Southeast saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Beltran, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Beltran's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Booker posted their closest victory since April 17, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past DeSoto County 6-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tornadoes.

Addiel Martinez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on one hit and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Dameer Watford was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kobran Waters, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Booker, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Southeast beat Booker 9-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Does Southeast have another victory up their sleeve, or will Booker turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
