Basketball Recap: Adirondack Comes Up Short

Adirondack played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 86-36 defeat at the hands of the Utica Academy of Science Atoms. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-14.

It was another big night for Akol Machteng, who dropped a double-double with 30 points and 14 boards for Utica Academy of Science. That makes it three consecutive games in which Machteng has scored at least a third of Utica Academy of Science's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devonte Belton, who went 7 for 10 en route to 16 points and six steals.

Adirondack's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Utica Academy of Science, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Coming up, Adirondack will be playing at home against Camden at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Utica Academy of Science, they will venture away from home to challenge Little Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
