After flying high against Redlands  last Friday, Beaumont came back down to earth. The Cougars fell just short of the Cajon Cowboys by a score of  25-23 on Friday. The Cougars gained 68 more yards on the day, but it was the Cowboys that made the best use of them.

 Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Travante James-Reek, who rushed for 128 yards and one  touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Beaumont also got help from  Braedon Miller, who showed off his sure hands for 88  receiving yards.
 Cajon was led to victory by  Jordan White and  Marcus Washington.  White gained 129 total yards and three touchdowns, while  Washington threw for 154 yards and a pair of  TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes. White really tore up the turf  during one magnificent 72-yard run.
Beaumont's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Cajon,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 4-3.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Beaumont will  square off against  rival Yucaipa  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. That  matchup will pit two of the most dominant  signal callers against one another:  Jeremiah Duhu and  Deace Turner. Meanwhile, Cajon is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Redlands East Valley  at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
