Basketball Recap: Laney Bradford's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Marion County over Van Buren County

Marion County lost against Van Buren County back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Marion County Warriors came up short against the Van Buren County Eagles, falling 54-33. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Eagles are ranked 77th).

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Laney Bradford, who posted nine points.

This is the second loss in a row for Marion County and nudges their season record down to 5-7. As for Van Buren County, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

Marion County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-26 loss against LaFayette on the 18th. Van Buren County has also already played their next match (against South Pittsburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
