Basketball Game Preview: River Valley Raiders vs. Meigs Marauders

River Valley hasn't had much luck against Meigs recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The River Valley Raiders will venture away from home to take on the Meigs Marauders at 7:30 p.m.

River Valley is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Saturday. They took a hard 88-74 fall against Symmes Valley. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 724th, while the Vikings are ranked 289th).

Meanwhile, Meigs put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 46-45 win over Marietta.

Meigs' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for River Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

River Valley took a serious blow against Meigs when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 79-43. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point River Valley was down 46-21.
