Recap: Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles vs. Capital Christian Cougars

It was a good run, but the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 63-50 to Capital Christian. Clayton Valley Charter was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Capital Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Despite the loss, Clayton Valley Charter saw an underclassman step up: Vince Ellis scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ellis has scored all season. Cannon Simpson was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Clayton Valley Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Capital Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Clayton Valley Charter will be playing in front of their home fans against Las Lomas at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Las Lomas is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Capital Christian, they will face off against Bishop O'Dowd at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop O'Dowd knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Capital Christian likes a good challenge.
