Soccer Recap: Riverside Takes Down Ranked Greenville

Riverside faced Greenville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Warriors skirted past the Red Raiders 2-1. Riverside haven't had any issues with Greenville recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Lily Ziemer was the driving force of Riverside's attack as she scored both of Riverside's goals, bringing her season total up to 15 goals.

Riverside pushed their record up to 13-4-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five matches. As for Greenville, they moved to 13-5-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Riverside will venture away from home to face off against Nation Ford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nation Ford will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something Riverside surely won't give up without a fight. Greenville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
