Basketball Recap: Colonial Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Gabriella Pecina and Indira Alvarez

Colonial Christian lost against Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Colonial Christian Patriots came up short against the Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Stallions, falling 46-21. The contest marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Colonial Christian had strong showings from IndIra Alvarez, who posted 11 points and six rebounds, and Gabriella Pecina, who had two points along with eight boards and three steals. Those eight boards gave Pecina a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Colonial Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Colonial Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Colonial Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 40-14 win against Archbishop Carroll on the 14th. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-17 victory against Academy for Innovative Education on the 14th.
