Recap: Lake Travis Cavaliers vs. Westlake Chaparrals
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Lake Travis Cavaliers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 21-14 to the Chaparrals on Saturday. Lake Travis' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Although Lake Travis took the loss, they still got scores from Kadyn Leon and Josiah Thomas.
Westlake can attribute much of their success to Jack Kayser, who rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns. Kayser hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for six straight games.
Lake Travis' defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Westlake, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0.
Lake Travis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westlake will square off against North Shore at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in North Shore's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
