Basketball Recap: Sergeant Bluff-Luton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Le Mars last Friday, Sergeant Bluff-Luton came back down to earth. The Sergeant Bluff-Luton Warriors took a 66-47 bruising from the Lincoln Lynx on Tuesday. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 64-50 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lincoln got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addie Naughton out in front who went 11 for 23 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. Naughton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hutson Rau, who went 6 of 13 en route to 15 points along with six assists and five steals.

Sergeant Bluff-Luton's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Lincoln, the victory also got them back to even at 2-2.

Sergeant Bluff-Luton will head out to challenge Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sergeant Bluff-Luton is facing Jefferson at the right time seeing as Jefferson is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lincoln, they will welcome Sioux City North at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.
