Baseball Recap: Berry Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Berry, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Wolves last Tuesday, they had to take a 9-8 loss.

The team relied heavily on Tyler Davis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Berry is 3-1 when Davis posts two or more runs, but 1-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Spann, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

With the victory, Berry broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-9. As for Ballantyne Ridge, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-8 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Berry Cardinals challenge Garinger Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Garinger has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.08 runs per game on average), something Berry will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ballantyne Ridge, they will face off against Palisades at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
