Volleyball Recap: Ridgewood Takes a Loss

Ridgewood lost against Riverside-Brookfield back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rebels fell 2-0 to the Bulldogs. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Ridgewood may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 17 points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17.

Monika Bartak paced Ridgewood's offense, picking up five kills. Bartak got some help from Emma Swiderek and her four assists. Swiderek also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Natalia Sibiga, each putting up two.

Ridgewood's loss dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Riverside-Brookfield, they pushed their record up to 14-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Ridgewood will face off against Lincoln Park at 5:30 p.m. on the 16th. As for Riverside-Brookfield, they will take on Glenbard South at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
