Salida extends home winning streak to five

Recap: Salida Spartans vs. Manitou Springs Mustangs

In what's become a running theme this season, the Salida Spartans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Manitou Springs 55-29. The victory was just what Salida needed coming off of a 72-35 loss in their prior match.

Salida found their leader in underclassman Braeden Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Graysa Kindle was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 13 rebounds and two blocks.

Salida pushed their record up to 5-5 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Manitou Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salida will take on Colorado Springs Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Manitou Springs, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against St. Mary's at 5:30 p.m. St. Mary's is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
