            Baseball Recap: Washougal Panthers vs. Rochester Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            Washougal lost against Rochester back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Saturday. The Panthers fell just short of the Warriors by a score of  6-5. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.
  Owen MacDonald and  Tyler Thompson stepped up to the plate in a big way.  MacDonald  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3, while  Thompson  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with one  double and one  RBI. MacDonald also  hit a  triple, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Nash Neumann, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Washougal's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Rochester, their victory was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 5-6.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washougal will square off against R.A. Long at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Lumberjacks' pitching crew has only allowed four  runs per game  this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rochester, they will venture away from home to  take on Elma  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Warriors are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
