Baseball Recap: Southern Huntingdon County's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Southern Huntingdon County can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the West Branch Warriors 6-4. For the Rockets, this counts as revenge for the 15-0 victory the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Levi Morgan, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Gibbons, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Southern Huntingdon County lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Southern Huntingdon County's win bumped their record up to 2-10. As for West Branch, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-5 record.

Looking ahead, Southern Huntingdon County will head out to face off against Tussey Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Branch, they will host Williamsburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Pirates have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
