Basketball Recap: Ferndale Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mt. Baker last Friday, Ferndale came back down to earth. The Ferndale Golden Eagles fell 55-45 to the Mountlake Terrace Hawks on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Mountlake Terrace's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Wagner, who went 5-for-9 en route to 20 points. Those 20 points gave Wagner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaliyah Dyson, who posted 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Ferndale's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Mountlake Terrace, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-11.

Ferndale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mountlake Terrace, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-41 loss against Snohomish on the 14th.
