Baseball Recap: MMI Preparatory School Comes Up Short

If MMI Preparatory School was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Tunkhannock last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. MMI Preparatory School came up short against the Wyoming Area Warriors on Tuesday, falling 15-8. MMI Preparatory School was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wyoming Area apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

MMI Preparatory School saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Skuba, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Skuba is becoming a predictor of MMI Preparatory School's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Derek Radzwich was another, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

MMI Preparatory School has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Wyoming Area, their record now sits at 5-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. MMI Preparatory School will head out to take on Hanover Area at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. MMI Preparatory School are facing the Hawkeyes at the right time seeing as the Hawkeyes are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Wyoming Area, they will head out on the road to face off against Tunkhannock at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.8 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
