Soccer Recap: Triton Takes a Loss

There was early excitement for Triton after they claimed the first goal on Monday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of the Lee County Yellow Jackets by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Triton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 456th, while Lee County are ranked 174th).

Triton's goal came courtesy of Caleb Miller, who's now up to two this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Triton and nudges their season record down to 2-9. As for Lee County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Triton will take on rival South Johnston at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lee County is set to square off against their familiar foe West Johnston at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
