Softball Recap: Raymond Extends Winning Streak to Four

Raymond had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 17-9 margin over the Epping Blue Devils. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Sophie Huynh, who went 4-for-5 with five runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Cori Cotter, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with five runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Raymond kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.

Raymond pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Epping, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Epping will challenge Pittsfield at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Raymond will be paying especially close attention to the Blue Devils' match: after the Blue Devils face off against the Panthers, they'll take on Raymond again at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
