Flag Football Recap: Manteca Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Manteca dropped to 9-6 on Tuesday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They took a 13-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sierra Timberwolves. If the Buffaloes were looking for revenge after losing 32-6 to the Timberwolves when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Manteca didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Gaby Leon, Keira McCulley, and Tatum Kusy Penirian picked up one apiece.

As for Sierra, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.5 points on average over those games.

Sierra found their leader in sophomore Kileyann O'Neill, who made four total tackles and defended three passes in addition to snagging an interception which she returned one-yard for a touchdown.

While Manteca had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
