Baseball Recap: Fort Campbell Falcons vs. University Heights Blazers

Fort Campbell extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-16 in the process. They came up short against the University Heights Blazers, falling 12-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blazers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in March.

As for University Heights, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games.

For University Heights' part, Hayden Hunt was a standout: he fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those four runs gave Hunt a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaiden Miles, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and four RBI.

Fort Campbell wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-3 loss against Russellville on the 13th. As for University Heights, they will challenge Franklin-Simpson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
