Softball Recap: Corner Canyon Chargers vs. Hillcrest Huskies

Corner Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost 19-0 to the Hillcrest Huskies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Corner Canyon of the 20-19 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

For Hillcrest's part, Kyli Carrell was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Carrell has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Carrell was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with a home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Hillcrest let Elliot Baddley and Brooklyn Ricci loose on the outfield.
