Basketball Recap: Olympia Skates Past Jones with Ease

Olympia won the last time they faced Jones and things went their way on Thursday too. The Olympia Titans simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Jones Fightin' Tigers 68-39. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Fightin' Tigers are ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Olympia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bishop Wenze, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. Wenze continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jonathan ?JJ? Watts, who posted 13 points and eight rebounds.

Olympia smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Olympia has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Jones, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.
