Basketball Recap: Dominique Jackson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Weequahic

American History posted their closest victory since February 9, 2024 on Monday. They skirted past the Weequahic Indians 38-35. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Indians last Monday, they had to take a 35-28 loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead American History to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dominique Jackson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Jackson has been hot, having posted 11 or more boards the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Erica Lawson, who posted seven points along with seven assists and four steals.

American History was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for American History and bumps their season record up to 7-4. As for Weequahic, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. American History will take on Newark Central at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Weequahic, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Barringer at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
