Basketball Recap: Ellie Dias Key Part of a Team Effort in Bulldogs Win

Stanberry won the last time they faced Pattonsburg and things went their way on Friday too. The Stanberry Bulldogs walked away with a 45-32 win over the Pattonsburg Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stanberry to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ellie Dias, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most points Dias has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cortney Merrigan, who posted eight points and six boards.

Stanberry was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Stanberry's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Pattonsburg, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Stanberry will face off against DeKalb at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Stanberry is facing DeKalb at the right time seeing as DeKalb is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Pattonsburg, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Worth County at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
