Lakeland and Dunmore are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Chiefs will head out to challenge the Bucks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakeland has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lakeland is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Mid Valley, falling 11-3.

Lakeland saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Paul Malak, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Malak also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dunmore, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Riverside with a sharp 12-2 win on Wednesday. Considering the Bucks have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jamie McMynne was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. McMynne was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Dunmore let Bobby Hoban and Anthony Yerka run wild. Hoban scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Yerka scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Max Forgione, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Dunmore's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeland, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Lakeland suffered a grim 15-7 defeat to Dunmore when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Chiefs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
