Basketball Game Preview: Greece Olympia Spartans vs. Canandaigua Academy Braves

Greece Olympia hasn't had much luck against Canandaigua Academy recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Greece Olympia Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Canandaigua Academy Braves at 7:00 p.m. Greece Olympia has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Greece Olympia will bounce into Monday's game after beating Eastridge, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Greece Olympia enjoyed a cozy 84-70 victory over Eastridge on Friday.

Meanwhile, Canandaigua Academy didn't have too much trouble with Brockport last Friday as they won 67-48. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 607th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greece Olympia's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Canandaigua Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Greece Olympia suffered a grim 69-44 defeat to Canandaigua Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Greece Olympia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
