Softball Recap: Brookfield Academy Comes Up Short

Brookfield Academy entered their match against Shoreland Lutheran on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Blue Knights lost 20-10 to the Pacers. The Blue Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pacers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Elisabeth Wilson and Lila Mason stepped up to the plate in a big way. Wilson went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Mason went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that Wilson has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jiana Jaeckle, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Brookfield Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Shoreland Lutheran, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookfield Academy will head out to face off against Luther Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Phoenix have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Shoreland Lutheran, they will take on Martin Luther at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pacers are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
