Soccer Game Preview: Salem vs. Greenville

The Salem Wildcats will take on the Greenville Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Salem has given up an average of 2.7 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Salem's offense. They lost 10-0 to Columbia on Tuesday. Salem have struggled against Columbia recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Greenville's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They put the hurt on Breese Central with a sharp 4-1 victory. Considering Greenville have won ten games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Breese Central with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Megan Ridens (2), Adyson Bearley, and Emma Veith.

Greenville is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those ten contests. As for Salem, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
