Baseball Game Preview: Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets vs. Porter Cowboys

The Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets will challenge the Porter Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Edcouch-Elsa couldn't beat Donna on Thursday even though they stacked five runs on them in the seventh inning. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Redskins by a score of 9-8.

Steven Rivera was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Troy Barco was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Porter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Harlingen South, falling 11-2.

Edcouch-Elsa has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Porter, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

Edcouch-Elsa couldn't quite finish off Porter in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
