Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Flashes vs. Bolles Bulldogs

St. Joseph Academy won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They fell victim to a rough 11-3 loss at the hands of the Bolles Bulldogs. St. Joseph Academy has not had much luck with Bolles recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

St. Joseph Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Talan McDonald, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

On Bolles' side, David Martin looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Martin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts every time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Aidan Lynch was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Levi Pietschker, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

St. Joseph Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Bolles, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph Academy will take on First Coast at 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Joseph Academy is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road. As for Bolles, they will challenge Englewood at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
