Basketball Recap: Carroll Academy Comes Up Short

Carroll Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Fayette Academy Vikings, falling 58-6. The contest marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Abbi Tucker had a dynamite game for Fayette Academy, going 8 for 9 en route to 18 points along with five boards and four steals. That's the most rebounds Tucker has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lily Gilbert, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 10 points and five steals.

Carroll Academy's record now sits at 0-9. As for Fayette Academy, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-15.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Carroll Academy Jaguars take on the Trinity Christian Academy Lions at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fayette Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Westminster Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
